We want to be recognized as a dynamic organization that is able to efficiently provide the integrated program delivery needed to lead a rapidly evolving food and agriculture system.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) was established in 1862 by President Abraham Lincoln. While there was no formal agency from which the USDA was an outgrowth, in 1820 and 1825 the U.S House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, respectively, established Agriculture Committees.During the latter half of the 1800s the railroads expanded rapidly across the US and its territories. As technology progressed, refrigerated cars and electricity made it possible for the meat packing industry to become a year-round business. established in 1862 railroads

Grows Safe, Nutritious and Affordable Food for Pennsylvania and the WorldPreserves Farmland and Conserves Natural Resources for Future GenerationsImproves Water and Air Quality through Nutrient ManagementMaximizes Technology and Innovation to Grow the EconomyEducates People to be Life- long Learners

Plant Trees Planting trees is fun and a great way to reduce greenhouse gases. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, from the air. Recycle Recycle cans, bottles, plastic bags, and newspapers. When you recycle, you send less trash to the landfill and you help save natural resources, like trees, oil, and elements such as aluminum. Save Electricity Whenever we use electricity, we help put greenhouse gases into the air. By turning off lights, the television, and the computer when you are through with them, you can help a lot.

Why I Think It’s Important The department of agriculture is important to know about because we all effect the way things are grown and distributed by doing little things that we think don’t matter, we all should know what it is that we are really doing to this earth.

Civil rights at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has long been a troubled area. Over the years, internal and external reports have described problems in USDA'S delivery of services to program beneficiaries- such as minority farmers-and in its treatment of minority employees

Rural areas are most commonly affected by certain things done in the department. But they try to help by providing programs for home renovation and repair. The USDA also makes financing available to elderly, disabled, or low-income rural residents of multi-unit housing buildings to ensure they are able to make rent payments.

Should be so important to everyone because without people that giving two cents about what’s happening and caring about people who cant do it for themselves it allows them to know that they are appreciated for what they do and we as a community we will do what we can to help.
