What does it… Look like? Smell like? Feel like? Sound like? Taste like? This lesson is designed to help children become more aware of using each of their senses specifically, as well as learning about where horses live.

3 What would you see in a horse barn?
Horses People Hay Stalls Tools Tack Encourage to name a few more things which may be in a horse barn, and get them to explain why.

4 What does it smell like? Horses Hay Dirt/Dust
A good idea may be to bring a sample of hay into the classroom, this hay may be used throughout the lesson.

5 What does a horse barn feel like?
Temperature: Around 45°- 65°F Dusty Hay: What does hay feel like?

6 What would you hear in a barn?

7 What would a barn taste like? (to a horse)
Hay Alfalfa Hay Sugar Cubes Apples Carrots Oats Sweet feed The kids will really enjoy this. Prior to class, gather a few “treats” which can double as snacks for the kids. Sugar cubes, apple slices, carrots, and so on.
