SCIENCE 1 st Nine Weeks
2
What is Science? …. Science is the discovery of everything around us.
3
Who is a Scientist? …. Are you a Scientist? What can you do to become a Scientist?
4
Are there different types of Scientists?
5
Why do Scientists work together to solve problems?
6
You are going to work with a partner to discover how Scientists collect information.
7
You will make a Science Notebook to record the information you discover. SCIENCE

What are your 5 senses?
10
What job do your eyes do? Why are your eyes so important?
11
Use your eyes to make an observation about our classroom. Use your eyes to make an observation about a classmate.
12
What can you see with your eyes that is near? What Science tool can you use to help you see things that are tiny?

You can use a hand lens or a magnifying glass. You can look at little things that are near.
14
You can use a microscope to look at things that are tiny.
15
What can you see with your eyes that is far away? What Science tool can you use to see things that are far away?

Which of our senses do we use for touch? OUR SKIN
28
Your fingers, your hands, your feet and all of the skin on your body is used for the sense of touch.
29
Our skin is very sensitive. What tools do we use to protect our skin? What tools do Scientists use to protect their skin?
30
We use gloves to protect our skin from hot and cold. What other tools do you see?
