2  It is very important to be in class every day, because new subject matter is introduced daily.  Our school and class goal is 100%  When an absence cannot be avoided, please be sure to request and complete an Independent Study. You can obtain these online or in the school office. ATTENDANCE

3  Our Class Rules-The students worked together to develop our class rules and they will include: *Respect yourself and others, *Listen with your eyes and ears, *Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself, *Raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged before getting out of your seat, *Raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged before speaking, *Demonstrate respect for yourself and others always.  Consequences for choosing to break the rules are as follows:  1 st time – Move clip to “1 st Opportunity to make better choices” (miss 10 minutes of recess to complete Better Choices Action Plan)  2 nd time – Move clip to “2nd Opportunity to make better choices” (miss 20 minutes of recess, complete Better Choices Action Plan, Action Plan signed by parent)  3 rd time – Move clip to ” DETENTION" ( office notification, miss full recess to serve lunch detention the following day, parent notification) DISCIPLINE

6  3 rd GRADE HOMEWORK  Ms. Hunt’s Class  Homework is an important responsibility and a crucial part of your child’s academic success. Assigned homework should be easily done in 45 minutes to one hour. Please help your student achieve success by developing a consistent daily procedure for doing homework and checking to ensure that homework is complete and accurate.  Homework will include daily assignments (Monday through Thursday) which are due the following day, weekly assignments which are due each Friday, and occasional inquiry projects for science and social studies, which will be assigned throughout the school year.  Daily Homework:  Math- Practice worksheets to reinforce concepts which are covered in class each day.  Reading- Student reads for a minimum of 20 minutes and writes about the material read. Please include book’s title and author. Students must write at least 4 sentences to begin the year and they will transition to summary paragraphs as the year progresses. Students may choose to write about plot, characters, setting, or any combination of these.  Weekly Homework:  Word work- includes practicing rules of grammar and punctuation, as well as learning spelling, words.  Times tables practice  Cursive practice  Inquiry components as assigned  I appreciate your dedication to your child’s academic success.
