2 Department for Work and Pensions 2 Local Partnership Agreements Aim To increase greater local collaboration and accountability between key partners in reducing worklessness and landing Welfare Reform. Approach Agreeing partnership agreements with all London LA’s, Work Programme Providers and other key local stakeholders. Setting stretching local ambitions around reducing worklessness, youth and long term unemployment.

3 Department for Work and Pensions 3 Agreements underpinned by locally developed governance structures and operational plans. Agreements allow for innovative use of JCPs FSF fund and S106 funding in the procurement of local bespoke targeted provision. Greater Co-location, co-creation and match funding opportunities. Supports better local understanding of who does what and avoiding unnecessary duplication. Local agreements supported by JCP freedoms and flexibilities which puts claimant needs at the very heart of our service.

4 Department for Work and Pensions 4 Launched on 19th November 2012. Easier and quicker to search for jobs using the very latest technology. Online users can;  Create and upload their CV.  Search and apply for jobs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Access their personal account anywhere.  Tailor their own job preferences and receive job alerts when a vacancy arises that meets their requirements. Employers can;  Upload and manage their own vacancies and receive CVs from those who match the person specification and job criteria. Universal Jobmatch

5 Department for Work and Pensions 5 Gangs Strategy Aim To offer positive opportunities to those young people seeking a way out of gang lifestyles Approach Dedicated advisers in all 20 boroughs Working with employers through the #youthpledge Joint partnership working with MET Police Innovative funding models and community partnership arrangements Measure of success To achieve employment education or training outcomes 1000 young gang members in London by March 2014

6 Department for Work and Pensions 6 Deprived Ward Programme Aim To reduce levels of unemployment in the most deprived areas by helping move 18 -24 year old customers into work and preventing them becoming the troubled families of the future. Approach To identify the most deprived ward in each LHC borough To identify unemployed young people in those wards To use a specific, targeted approach To work in partnership with local organisations – using FSFG support if appropriate To ring-fence JCP resource to support delivery of the solution Measure of success To reduce levels of 18-24 year old unemployment in the specific wards by 10%

7 Department for Work and Pensions 7 200 Programme Aim To tackle those customers who have been ‘left behind’ and where traditional programmes have failed to deliver successful outcomes Approach To identify the 200 longest term unemployed people in each JCP District To analyse the key features of this group (to help shape future preventative measures) To use a specific, targeted approach by nominated JCP advisers Measure of success To get 30% of this group into to work, of which 50% are still in work 3 months later.

8 Department for Work and Pensions 8 Care Leavers Aim To work with young people leaving care to ensure they are given additional support to help them find work, training or self-employment. Approach To raise awareness of this small, but very vulnerable group of customers To work in partnership with Leaving Care LA teams To use a specific, targeted approach to support delivery of the solution Measure of success To be developed
