2 Gator Gone Green Recycling Program Committee Committee Administrator: Jose E. Lopez, Assistant President Lead Facilitator: Vickie Young, Special Education Committee Members: Bent Watson, U.S. History Shoneri Mondesir, Texas History Kit Allen, Art Laura Defazio, Art Student Expectations: Scholars will be responsible for collecting the campus wide recycling on every Friday of each week. Scholars will be expected to show Gator S.N.A.P. at all times while participating in this program. Any student that does not follow the school wide procedures and expectations will be referred for disciplinary action according to the student code of conduct.

3 Gators Gone Green Recycling Program Educational Philosophy “ Every Individual Matters, Every Individual has a role to play, Every Individual makes a difference.” Purpose Statement The purpose of the Gators Gone Green Recycling Program is to create leaders of the future. Our Focus is on the whole student. Our goal is to provide a specialized program that will promote recycling awareness as a campus wide initiative, build community involvement, and promote character. We will foster a school climate that is safe and supportive of our scholars, enabling them to succeed in a ever-changing world. Mission Statement “ Campbell Gators are scholars.Our mission is to Produce Graduates, It’s a great day to be a Campbell Gator” Projected Implementation Date February 2, 2015

5 Gators Gone Green Recycling Program Goals To increase awareness of waste creation To educate students about responsible consumption and the importance of recycling To encourage students to develop a life‐long habit of recycling

6 Gators Gone Green Facts and Benefits By recycling1 plastic bottle not only saves anywhere from 100 to 1000 years in the landfill but also saves the environment from the emissions in producing new bottles as well as the oil used to produce that bottle. For every 1 ton of plastic that is recycled we save the equivalent of 2 people’s energy use for 1 year, the amount of water used by 1 person in 2 month’s time and almost 2000 pounds of oil.

8 Gators Gone Green Decoration Contest Contest Rules Each Advisory teacher will receive 1 bin. This bins must be covered in green botcher paper. After your recycling bin has been covered each class will then decorate their class bins. The objective of this contest is to see which advisory class can be the most creative. Projected Judging Date On February 23, 2015 at 4 th period teachers will set each bin out into the hallway so that the judges can look at their recycling bin. Judges Principal : Dr. Cheryl T.
