2. 1. Axis Powers: a military and political alliance between Germany, Italy and Japan. Its goals were to achieve vast expansion through aggressive warfare 2. Allied Powers: the nations, primarily China, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and the United States, allied against the Axis 3. Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact: an agreement that guaranteed the two countries would not attack each other.
