3 The Futures Channel http://thefutureschannel.com The Futures Channel STEM Screening Room is a video resource. It provides educators full access to all Futures Channel STEM videos. STEM means Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math This a great resource considering most high schools are pushing STEM because many universities are offering greater scholarship opportunities for students pursuing a STEM subject matter

4 Ask a Biologist http://askabiologist.asu.edu Ask a Biologist is a learning resource tool for students, teachers, parents, and life-long learners. You can direct questions directly to a Biologist It has some great interactive activities A teacher’s tool box full of great classroom ideas An area where you can listen and watch from a variety of scientific topics

5 iNaturalist www.inaturalist.org iNaturalist is a nice fun web site where you can record data, meet people and explore places all over the world from the comforts of your desk and computer. Below are some topics you may find Interesting: View and record data on different species Do projects Visit Places Use travel guides Listen and watch what other explorers are doing

6 NASA Multimedia Page www.nasa.gov/multimedia/index.html This page has a wealth of information and fairly easy to navigate. For Educators: The topics are broken down for teachers by grade levels K-4, 5-8, 9-12, higher education, and informal education. For Students: There is a NASA Kids Club and a search education resource

7 PhET http://phet.colorado.edu PhET is an interactive simulation website for science and math. It is operated by the University of Colorado. Supported by Pearson; which is the textbook we use for our class. There are resources for how to use and do the simulations, teacher resources and a variety of other activities.

8 Molecular Workbench (MW) http://mw.concord.org/modeler/index.html MW is a free and open-source software. It is interactive and has simulation based curriculum materials. It covers a wide range of topics including: states of matter chemical bonding chemical reaction, the genetic code

10 About the Author… I’m Chris Ploucha. I attend Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan. I continue to learn everyday about what it takes to become a professional student and teacher.
