3 A well known nursery rhyme… This is the house that Jack built. This is the malt That lay in the house that Jack built. This is the rat, That ate the malt That lay in the house that Jack built. This is the cat, That killed the rat, That ate the malt That lay in the house that Jack built. This is the dog, That worried the cat, That killed the rat, That ate the malt That lay in the house that Jack built. What kind of words are missing?

5 Objectives By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1.Demonstrate knowledge of the rules for adjective order. 2.Be able to describe an object using adjectives and subordinate clauses.

6 Adjectives follow rules for order Which is correct? a)A large, old, grey, plastic sofa? b)A grey, old, large, plastic sofa?

7 Working with a partner, work through Activity A1&2 then B1&2 Taken from SKFL E2U5p8.

8 More rules… Adjectives with –ing and –ed Bored/boring, excited/exciting, interested/interesting 1.He was ________ with the ________ film. 2.The children were ________ by the ________ trip to Longleat. 3.It is an ________ idea, I am sure the class will be ________.

9 Team game Each team chooses three objects in the room and writes down some adjectives which adjective to describe them. “It’s something [list of adjectives]….” The other team has to guess.
