8 Strategic Planning: Background Our History and What We Do Celebrating 30 years!! –Formed in 1980 RNAO Affiliate Status in1991 –Share information and are involved with the Board of Directors. –Represent a unique specialty within the nursing spectrum –Offer a range of professional resources and support to agencies such as RNAO, CNIA, eHealth Ontario, and the LHINs – Provide bursaries to support member professional development, education and research

9 Strategic Planning: Current Our Mission and Goals To build a supportive community of nursing informaticians within Ontario through initiatives that support education, research and practice To promote awareness and value of nursing data, information management and the use of technology for the provision of high quality, cost-effective health care. To provide a forum for nursing and other professionals to communicate and disseminate current developments in health-care informatics
