3 Skills for Care – who we are Part of the sector Skills Council for social care, children and young people’s services Employer lead organisation Development of National Occupational Standards Development of National Minimum Standards Involved in the development of Qualification Credit Framework

4 What we do Provide robust data about the social care workforce Help develop new ways of working and delivering services Create a flexible qualifications framework that underpins workforce development, learning and training for 1.5 million social care workers We are the employer voice on emerging Government policy Help improve the image and status of the social care workforce

5 Derbyshire Employer Engagement Project Established in 2003 through funding from the Learning Skills Council, NHS Workforce confederation, Derbyshire and Derby City County Councils and Skills for Care ‘One Stop Shop’ for information, support and guidance for the private, independent and voluntary sector Links employers with funding, training and resources Work in partnership with stakeholders
