2. Machines Makes work easier by changing the size of a force, the direction of a force, or the speed of a force.

4. Force Effort force – the force you apply to a machine. A small force can be used to overcome a large force. Resistance force – the force which opposes the effort force.

5. Mechanical advantage Machines help by multiplying your effort force. The number of times a machine multiplies the effort force is mechanical advantage (MA). MA = resistance force /effort force.
