His family owned their own brewery which they all took part in working in.

This invention led to the first law of thermodynamics.

He used this to stir water with paddles that connected to this calorimeter. This invention is now in the museum of Natural Philosophy in Scotland.

8. About James Joule  James joule’s invention of the apparatus is now used today in the heating and cooling of our refrigerators and air conditioners and heaters and etc., James grew up in a small town where his family owned a business of a brewery which he and his brother both helped his father work in throughout his childhood, he is best know for his research in thermodynamics and electricity. He passed away in 1889 and was laid to rest in his hometown of Salford, England leaving behind three children and a wife.
