2. We are a Non-profit Non Governmental organization that is committed to Compassionate Advocacy, Respect and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the Women and Youth. We are Called AKO ANG SAKLAY which means “I AM THE CRUTCH/ES” support, accompaniment, partners in the empowerment and development of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.

3. WE believed that through a holistic approach of human development, through spiritual formation, Skills training, sharing, education and counseling, we have the capacity to empower people for the alleviation of poverty and illness.

4. 1.Youth Development, through Spiritual accompaniment. Skills training through tutoring, computer training. Counseling.

5. 2. Women and Parenting: through counseling, parenting training, livelihood training and health teaching related to different illnesses.

6. 3. Leadership training and development for Youth, women and Public School teachers as well as local officials.

7. We offer Livelihood training such as: A. Baking training for women and youth to learn how to bake bread and pastries for their livelihood.

8. B. Candle making training for Pastoral Leaders involve in BEC and chapels in the barrio. They are trained how to make candles for their chapel's need and for their livelihood as well.

9. C. Soap Making training for women in the Barrio so that they can make their own soap for their use and for livelihood as well.

10. D. Organic farming Training for women, seniors and youth on how to do an organic vegetable farming in their backyard for their own use and for livelihood.

11. E. Environment and Ecological training. We organized and teach the care of our environment through Tree planting and teaching on recycling waste materials.

12. F. Cosmetology: We offer beauty training to women such as hair cutting, foot spa, manicure/pedicure skills for their livelihood.

13. 6. We offer Medical Mission to poor seniors, women and children in the barrio. Free Medical check up. Vaccination of seniors.

14. 5. We organized and offer retreats and recollections to different groups of women and youth for their spiritual growth and empowerment.

15. 7. Scholarships: We offer scholarships to active and deserving youth who have the desire to learn and study in order to help their families and the community.

16. 8. Advocacy for PWDs, Persons with Disabilities: We help PWDs get the necessary tools and support for their mobilization and empowerment. We partners with NGOs that provides wheelchairs or prosthesis to amputated persons.

17. 9. We do outreach to different places affected by Natural disasters, such as the typhoon that hit Mindanao, Tacloban, and the earthquake in Bohol. Part of our mission is to provide Psychological First Aid to survivors as well as accompaniment and livelihood training.

18. 10. Promotion of of Volunteerism: We have a program for Volunteers for their mission experience and immersion. Depending on the needs and skills of a volunteer, they are placed at the center to help and be part of the on-going program of Saklay.

20. 11.. SAKLAY CENTER: Where we offer sanctuary to people in need. We have available rooms for those who are sick, rape victims and other concerns. After assessing them, we refer them to proper center or institution that can take care of them.

21. 12. AKO ANG SAKLAY CENTER NEED YOUR HELP. There is so much needs. A lot of people are coming to SAKLAY CENTER to seek guidance and help. A lot of women and youth would like to participate in our Livelihood training. Our youth would like to learn computer training. Our women would like to be part of baking and candle making. Many youth from the Public schools would like to participate in on-going formation and recollection. The seniors and the elderly need a place for their gathering and health teaching.

23. The children for the feeding. Our structure can not accommodate all their needs. WE need help in the development of SAKLAY CENTER. We need help on the following. 1. Construction of a bigger hall that can accommodate 200 to 300 people. 2. Construction of the Computer center. That can accommodate 30 to 40 youth.

26. 3. Construction of the Library where children and students can come for their readings and research. 4. Building and setting up of the Stations of the Cross 5. Building of a small clinic where Volunteer doctors can meet patients on a regular basis. 6. Building of the candle making and baking room.

28. General Information It is called AKO ANG SAKLAY (I AM THE CRUTCHES) to empower all of us to care for the Differently Able Persons in our communities. It is not only the wheelchairs or the crutches. It is us who will hold and support our brothers and sisters who are Differently Able Persons.
