7 Telecentres n Sentech has provided broadband connectivity to the Siyabonga Telecentre at Orange Farm –VSAT –Internet n Providing fast internet access to a community n The centre already had paying internet customers after 1 week. –Monthly fee –Building towards a sustainable business –Sentech will assist with the implementation of 100 telecentres A bridge over the digital divide

8 Telemedicine n Sentech has a working telemedicine solution –Public/Private partnership –XRAY images stored and forwarded, diagnosed and reported n XRays taken at Frontier Hospital in Queenstown are being diagnosed in Johannesburg –Efficient utilisation of resources –Fast diagnostics –Access to professional radiological services. –Increased revenue earning potential for state hospitals n Medical aids will increasingly send patients to state hospitals
