2 How is a Business Letter Organized?
Three paragraphs in a business letter Introduction-Clearly indicate background and purpose Body-Include important details Conclusion-end with a goodwill closing Organization of a Business letter can be done with the acronym B.P.D.O.G

3 Introduction (B.P) The background to the letter is stated to the reader. What information is need to make a connection to the letter The purpose of the letter is also clearly identified Why are you writing? Inform, educate, invite, request? Things not to include: “My Name is…” statements Unconventional salutation/Secondary greeting

4 Body (D.O) The body paragraph(s) is designed to relate the letter’s purpose. This is where your requests, arguments, sources, inquiries, and other letter specific information is placed. If there is specific instructions that must be included along with the letter, they must also be stated in a body paragraph. (Operations)

5 Conclusion (G) End with a goodwill greeting.
A statement of further inquiry, thanking for time, hoping to see you at an event etc. Must be formal in nature. (No C-ya! Or TTYL)
