2 Welcome to iPod Touch Instead of a resistive touch screen that requires a stylus, the iPod touch has a capacitive touch screen*. This means it detects your finger and requires only a very light touch. DO NOT use a pencil, eraser, or any other object on the screen—finger/thumb only *You can purchase a special stylus for capacitive touch screens

5 Navigate in iPod Touch Click on the sleep/wake button Slide to unlock Swipe through pages To return back to the main page just click the home button

6 Mobile Safari Go to top of the page (tap time) Zoom: double tap, thumbs together and drag apart Shaky or jiggly icons-clicking on the x will delete from the unit. To stop the shaking, click the home button

7 Save Image on iPod Press down on image and hold. A menu choice will appear at the bottom. Choose Save Image The image will now be in the photo app

8 Text Entry Custom dictionary will give the user an auto correct choice. To accept just tap the space bar, to decline click the x. Double space at the end of the sentence will automatically insert a period and make the next letter capital Keyboard can appear as portrait or landscape (most screens can do this), just turn the unit in the landscape or portrait position/

9 Edit Text Touch and hold to bring up the magnifying glass, then drag to position the insertion point.

10 Search apps, contacts, notes At the home screen swipe left and you will get the search screen. Type in what you are looking for and the choices will appear in the screen below

11 Select Text Tap the insertion point to display the selection buttons. Tap Select to select the adjacent word or tap Select All to select all text. When you’re typing, you can also double-tap to select a word. In read-only documents, such as webpages, or email or text messages you’ve received, touch and hold to select a word. Drag the grab points to select more or less text.

12 Cut, Copy, Paste Tap the insertion point to display the selection buttons. Tap Select to select the adjacent word or tap Select All to select all text. Select text, then tap Cut or Copy
