1 Tues/Wed, May 30-June 1  Welcome!  Bellwork:  Take out the 16.2/16.3 handout out and ready to be stamped.  Take a piece of paper out and answer the following five questions. Hang on to this piece of paper, use it to answer the test prep questions each day to help you prepare for the final exam.

2 Test Prep Questions  I am not going to require it, but I would RECOMMEND that you copy down the questions as well as your answers so you can study them. 1. Who was the leader of the Conquistadors who invaded the Inca Empire? 2. Why was establishing Quecha as the official language to new provinces of the Inca Empire important? 3. How were Inca stories passed on to future generations? 4. What prompted Moctezuma II to welcome Hernan Cortes? 5. What were some of the reasons the Samurai period lasted until the 1800’s in Japan?

3 Daily Agenda  Columbian Exchange Activity and Museum Walk  Work on the Study Guide and Break  16.3 powerpoint and discussion  Group read 16.3  Finish 16.3 by the end of class (if not, it is homework).  Begin Reading 17.2 for B Block.

4 B-Block: June 2/3  Welcome!  Bellwork: Answer the following 5 questions on your separate piece of paper.  Try to use the same piece of paper each time.  DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING ELSE OUT…..Our first activity of the day is working moving about.  Your only homework will be to work on your study guide and finish 17.2 if you do not finish in class.

5 5 test prep questions 1. What was the main duty of the Samurai? 2. Which Chinese belief system placed a large emphasis with nature? 3. How did woodblock printing help the Chinese 4. What happened during the Reconquista in Spain? 5. How did life change for peasants and serfs after the Black Plague?

6 Daily Agenda  Museum Explorer Walk  Correct 16.2/16.3  Columbian Exchange Activity  Break  Discuss 17.2 and powerpoint (use the powerpoint to fill out 17.2)  Complete 17.2 handout  Work on Study guide.

7 Muesum Walk  For the Museum Walk, you will need to read each placard about a famous explorer. You will have 10 minutes to learn about 1 explorer. You will fill out the explorer notes in that section.  After you finish this section, each group will move to a different group and explain the information on their notes to a different group. Each group will have about 4 minutes to share their information, and then determine the route that explorer took (look on page 448 for help).  Groups will have 8 minutes to exchange both groups, then switch.

11 Columbian Exchange/Museum Walk Activity  Columbian Exchange Activity:  Each group will be given several cards. In groups of six, figure out which items are from either the old or new world.  The first group to fninish gets a prize on Monday. OLD WORLDNEW WORld
