2 Essays…  An essay is a brief prose work written on a particular topic.  Narrative: A true story that may focus on a character other than the writer.  Expository: Gives information of explanations.

3 Essays…  Personal: An informal account of an episode from a person’s own life.  Reflective: Presents a writer’s thoughts about ideas or experiences.  Persuasive: A series of arguments presented to convince readers to believe or act in a certain way.

4 Essays…  Descriptive: A description of people or places.  Auto-biography: An informal account of the author’s own life.  Biography: Tells about someone’s life.
