1. ROMAN ART Purposeful vs. Enjoyable All art is a creative expression of an idea or belief. Some art serves a purpose. Other art is created simply to enjoy. On the lines to the right, write down your favorite song and movie. In your groups, determine if your song or movie is purposeful or enjoyable.

2. Purposeful: Arches Most Roman architecture was made possible because of the arch. The keystone in the middle holds all of the weight and makes for a stronger support.

3. Purposeful: Architecture Aqueducts, like the one to the left, was an ancient water pipeline. Aqueducts were used all over the Roman Empire to bring fresh water to its citizens.

4. Purposeful: Concrete Many of the Roman buildings and roads were made possible because of the creation of concrete. To the right is the Pantheon, one of the Roman marvels, is made of concrete.

5. Enjoyable:Art
