2 History  On March 13, 1781.,William Herschel accidentally discovered Uranus with a homemade telescope.  He discovered Uranus in Bath England. The planet got its name in Roman/Greek Mythology.

3 Solar System Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun Uranus distance from the sun is 2.9 billion km 1.8 billion miles For Uranus one trip around the sun is 84 Earth years One day on Uranus is 17 earth hours

4 Moons Uranus has 27 moons The moons of Uranus are Titania, Oberon, Ombriel, Ariel, Miranda, Melinda, Mianca, Caliban, Cordelia, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Ophelix, Portia, Puch, Rosalind. That is only some of the moons Uranus has.

5 Planet appearance The planet Uranus is a light green and blue planet. It also is on its side. Scientists did believe that Uranus is light green and blue because its so cold.

6 Rings Uranus has 11 rings but some rings are darker then the others. Some are dark black some are bright white as seen here. Uranus rings are on its side!

7 Exploration In 1986 Voyager 2 discovered 10 small moons, detected the magnetic period, and measured the length of the Uranian day.

8 Interesting Facts Inclination of axis: 97.86. long ago science thought that Uranus is tilted because a bunch of rocks hit Uranus and tilted it. Uranus is one of the coldest planets.
