On 9/11/2001 his brother, Gregory, a NYC firefighter, was a victim of the terror attacks at the World Trade Center
In 2005 his house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans
His family then moved to New York City and their house was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012
