NOTES… It should be noted that some departments’ privileges have been consolidated into “Core Privileges”. This is a group of privileges categorized into one group and the applicant must meet criteria for these privileges can be approved. These privilege records will look a bit different from a standard non-Core Privileged provider’s. You will not need to click the “show privileges” button to show his/her individual privileges because all of the core privileges have descriptions found at the end of each Major/Core entry. It also requires you to view their privileges a little differently. Please continue reading for more in depth instructions. Some practitioners now have photos on their privilege page. This will assist a person checking privileges to also be able to verify identity. Although some records may not yet have a photo, we hope to have all photos loaded soon. Midas Credentialing

NON-CORE PRIVILEGE LOOKUP This is how to view a “NON-CORE Privileged” provider. Once the selected practitioner’s information is showing, you can see their Major/Core privileges in the first grid. You should also review individual privileges by clicking on the “Show Privileges” button as indicated. All individual privileges, either ACTIVE or INACTIVE, will appear. Magnifying glass button Midas Credentialing

CORE PRIVILEGE LOOKUP Once the selected practitioner’s information is showing, you can see their Major privileges in the first grid. To see what these “Core Privileges” include you need to click on the “+” symbol at the end of each privilege as indicated. A box appears with detailed descriptions of what privileges are encompassed in the Core Privilege you chose. In the future there will be digital images on the tab which will allow you to see a copy of the actual approved delineation of privileges form. Midas Credentialing

You may also now SEARCH for individual privileges within the provider’s record Simply type the entire or partial name of the privilege you are looking for into the “Search for Individual Privilege” box & click “Show Privileges”. The privilege list opens for you to choose a privilege from. Click on the privilege of your choice & the system will tell you if the provider has this privilege or not. Midas Credentialing

Frequently Asked Questions 1. What if the practitioner I’m looking for doesn’t appear in the Results window? You should assume that the practitioner has no privileges at this institution. Medical Staff Services should be called, or the Administrator-on-Call if outside of normal business hours. (Per the Medical Staff Bylaws) any practitioner shall be permitted to do whatever is reasonably possible to save the life of a patient or save a patient from serious harm. Contact should be made with the Service Chief concerning the need for emergency care and assistance from Members of the Medical Staff with appropriate clinical privileges. 2. What if the practitioner’s name appears, but it is showing as “INACTIVE” next to the privilege? You should instruct the practitioner that the database shows he/she is not approved and advise him/her to contact his/her Department Chair or Medical Staff Services for confirmation/further information. (See note above regarding emergency situations). Midas Credentialing

3. Are Residents or Fellows in the database? Yes, however, you will not see any privileges/procedures in their record as they are not privileged as independent attending practitioners. E-Value is the GME software application that can provide you with which residents or fellows may perform moderate sedation and other procedures related to their educational activities without direct attending supervision. You may access E-Value at: http://www.e-value.net Login: nurseone Password: managerone Should you need assistance with E-Value please contact: Laura Pounds, Director Graduate Medical Education Office (410) 328-1004 Email: Lpounds@umm.edu 4.
