1 RRMC RITE Training for Physicians and Physician Extenders Part 2: An In-Patient Comprehensive Review The presentations should open full screen in “Show Mode”, however, if they do not: Click “Slide Show” from the toolbar and select “View Show”. You will not see the entire education presentation unless you view in Show Mode. Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

2 kab039  kab039  UAS Single Sign On will auto enter your User Name and Password here… Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward A patient will automatically appear in your “My Patients” and Group list if you have been set as having a Consulting or Attending relationship with the patient For new patients that are not in your list, see “Part 5: Changing Care Providers”

3 To review patient information, Single-Click to select the patient in your “My Patients” list then click the [Info] button Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

4 The [Info] button opens the patient record and will first display Patient Alerts for the current visit Navigate through the Clinical Modules to review patient data The Patient Banner displays important information and patient identifiers Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

5 Click “Vital Signs” from the list of Clinical Modules to review nursing documentation of the patient’s Vital Signs Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

6 Vital Signs display from the date/time of admission until the current date/time in reverse chronological order so that the most recent results appear first. Scroll down to review older results Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

7 High/Low indicators display highlighted in red To graph results, place a checkmark in the Graph box for the appropriate category or categories Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

8 High/Low indicators display highlighted in red To graph results, place a checkmark in the Graph box for the appropriate category or categories Click “Transcriptions” to review documents such as H&P’s, Op Notes, Echo reports, etc Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

9 High/Low indicators display highlighted in red To graph results, place a checkmark in the Graph box for the appropriate category or categories Transcriptions will display data from “All Visits” And will default to the most recent date transcriptions are resulted On this date, one Operative Note was resulted Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

10 High/Low indicators display highlighted in red To graph results, place a checkmark in the Graph box for the appropriate category or categories Click “All” to display all the results Now you can scroll down through the reports, starting from most recent within the “All” tab Or go to the category specific tabs The numbers in parenthesis will tell you how many reports are available to view Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

11 Click “Emergency Dept Reports” to review ED Notes Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

12 This patient only has ED reports listed for 10/31/2011 Click the “Physician Notes” tab to review Physician ED reports Click the “Nurses Notes” tab to review Nursing documentation from the ED visit Click the “Order Sheet” tab to review Orders from the ED visit Click “Radiology Reports” from the Clinical Modules menu to review radiology results for this patient Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

13 This patient only has ED reports listed for 10/31/2011 Click the “Physician Notes” tab to review Physician ED reports Click the “Nurses Notes” tab to review Nursing documentation from the ED visit Click the “Order Sheet” tab to review Orders from the ED visit The Radiology module defaults to the most recent date a radiology result is present Click “All” to view a summary of radiology results from all dates across All Visits Scroll through all results in the “All” tab or click on the category specific tabs Click “Labs” from the Clinical Modules menu to review lab results for this patient When the Radiology image is available to view A link will be present and will launch you directly to the specified image in the Radiology system Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

14 The Labs screen defaults to the “All” categories tab and displays values resulted within the last 7 days Click the ▼from the “View Results From:” field to change the time window of display Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

15 Some results have indicators. A legend is available to interpret the different icons you may see Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

16 Hover your cursor over a lab result to see more details about the specific result, such as the Normal Range and the Ordering Physician Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

17 Click on the lab result to get a Detailed Report Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

18 Click the result again and the Detailed Report will close Click the checkbox(es) to select lab results to [Trend] or [Graph] Note: You can only trend on one Lab at a time, however, you can graph multiple Click “Microbiology” from the Clinical Modules to review Microbiology results Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

19 Hover your cursor over a result to see more detailsOr click on a result to see the Detailed Report Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

20 The MAR module will not display data until nursing documentation of Medication Administration moves from paper to electronic. However, if you are viewing a visit from another Novant facility that does electronic med documentation, Amalga will display the administration details Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

21 Click “Orders” from the Clinical Modules to review orders for the selected patient Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

22 The Orders module defaults to first display “Active Labs”To view lab orders that have already been processed or have been canceled or discontinued, click the “Inactive Lab” tab Click the Category-Specific tabs or view a summary of all categories using the “Active All” and “Inactive All” tabs Note: The only Nursing Orders that will display at this time, are Isolation and Code Status orders Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward

23 The orders are listed with the most recent at the top, however, you can change your Sort Order by clicking on any of the Headers Example: To alphabetize by Order Description, click the “Description” header Once you have completed your comprehensive review of patient data, log out of the workstation using the Red exit door Use ◄►arrows on keyboard to move forward and backward
