From A to Tweet… How to turn Web 2.0 into Classroom 2.0

Important Concepts Engaging today’s students means tapping into what is important to them. Do not use technology for technology sake – does it improve learning ? We have a responsibility to prepare them for their future not our past!

Technology allows learners to get their information WHEN they want it HOW they want it WHEREVER they want it

Important Concepts Educators do not have to know how to use any of the technology they assign to students They just need to know what the technology can produce and how long it will take to complete the finished project

Important Concepts A great way to learn a technology or new skill is on-line videos

Student Reactions to Web 2.0 Tools I like moving around this is a way to meet other students in the class I enjoy using my hands I get tired of writing all the time so podcasting is a fun change I work harder on these assignments because all my friends in the class will see them I enjoy creating assignments that look professional I like having the opportunity of showing my work to a wider audience
