8. Beginnings The Jews were under Roman rule and a group of people thought that the Messiah was going to come and return the kingdom of the Jews. The Messiah is the savior and son of God that would rid the Jews of their suffering. Later Jesus Christ would claim to be the Messiah.

9. Jesus Born in Bethlehem as a Jew. At the age of 30 began his public ministry. He reportedly preached and performed miracles.

10. More about Jesus. He was followed by people known as apostles that wrote down his teachings. The Jewish priest claimed blasphemy against him. The Roman Governor of the Jewish land, Pilate, sentenced him to death by crucifixion. After his death he reportedly ascended to heaven. He was then known as Jesus Christ.

12. Spread The apostles began spreading Jesus' message and life after his death. The two biggest spreaders were Paul and Peter.

13. What are the Gospels, who wrote them? The Gospel Authors. Each of the four gospels was written by two authors. The main author is God Himself, who by the Holy Spirit, influenced what Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote (2 Pet. 1:20-21).
