2 SS7CG3: The student will analyze how politics in Africa impacts standard of living. b. Describe the impact of government stability on the distribution of resources to combat AIDS and famine across Africa.

3 AIDS facts Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a disease that is spread through blood and other bodily fluids. It attacks and destroys the immune system, leaving the victim unable to fight off infections.

4 Of the 34,300,000 AIDS cases in the world, 24,500,000 cases are found in sub-Saharan Africa 3,800,000 are children under the age of 15 AIDS in Africa

7 AIDS In 1985 the first case of an HIV infection was detected on the continent of Africa and governments were slow to respond. Poor healthcare systems, poverty, civil wars, and lack of government organization along with ignorance about HIV/AIDS contributed to the widespread epidemic.
