7. Ventral Body Cavity Abdominopelvic Cavity/Peritoneal Cavity: separated from the thoracic cavity by the diaphragm muscle. Two subdivisions: ◦ Abdominal Subdivision: stomach, intestines, spleen, and liver ◦ Pelvic Subdivision: bladder, reproductive organs, and rectum

8. Thoracic Diaphragm Diaphragm: a sheet of internal skeletal muscle that separates the Thoracic cavity from the abdominal pelvic cavity and aids in inhaling.
