2 Directions  There will be four teams (each row will be on one team).  I will call on 1 person in each row (we will go in order beginning with the first person in the row) to pick a category.  The person will pick a category.  I will ask them a question from the category they choose.  They will answer the question in the form of another question beginning with the question word What.  For example, Category: Spelling for $100 Category: Spelling for $100 Question: How do you spell the word dog? Answer: What is d o g?  Each group will have a total number of 3 times to ask for help from a group member so use your helpers only as needed.  If an incorrect answer is given, the question goes to the next team and they receive points for the question.

3 Rules  Do NOT get out of your seat.  Do NOT yell out answers.  Do NOT jump or dance around.  Do NOT tell your team members the answer unless a they use one of the help cards.

4 Consequences for Breaking the Rules  1 st offense: your team will lose 5 points.  2 nd offense: your team will lose a turn.  3 rd offense: you will be disqualified and have a writing assignment instead of playing Jeopardy with your team.

36 Have you ever heard of John Chapman? Have you ever heard of John Chapman? You probably hear about him each year, but don’t know what his real name is. Most people know John Chapman as “Johnny Appleseed”. John Chapman was born in Massachusetts on September 26, 1775, Chapman earned his nickname because he planted apple trees during his travels across the Midwestern wilderness. He was one of America’s great pioneers. In 1792, 18-year-old Chapman went west to plant apple trees. In 1801, Chapman brought 16 bushels of apple seeds down the Ohio River and cleared nearby land to plant trees. Each year, he traveled hundreds of miles on foot wearing a coffee sack with holes cut out for arms. With his long beard, it is said that he carried a cooking pot on his head. He loved to sleep outdoors. In 1830, Chapman was able to get land in Indiana. There he produced thousands apple trees. Many said he was a cheerful man with a generous nature. He loved the wilderness and was gentle with animals. Johnny Appleseed loved planting apple planting apple trees. John Chapman died on February 18, 1847. Even though Johnny Appleseed has been dead for a long time, many still cheer for the special ways.
