1 DNA Fingerprinting Restriction Enzymes By Ivy Stites & Jamison Watson

2 What are those?!  Restriction enzymes are molecular scissors that cut DNA in specific places between nucleotides based on the code given. (like TGCTGA-TGACAA; or it could be much simpler like CC-GG).

3 What happens when they’re cut?  Differences and similarities between the number of base pairs in each fragment are exposed the strands of DNA when restriction enzymes are utilized.

4 Demonstration of How Restriction Enzymes Work…  NUCLEOTIDES  Adenine-Purple  Thymine-Orange  Guanine-Green  Cytosine-Yellow

5 What we’re going to do…  We’re going to cut this strand of DNA between the nucleotides Adenine and Guanine and the sequence AA-GG
