2 The World’s Shores Two thirds of water is covering the worlds surface. The seashore is made up of a mixture of crushed rocks, shells and sand. Sand is lots of tiny grains bunched together to form most of the seashore. There are many different sizes of sand grains. They can have a diameter of 0.0625 millimeters to 2 millimeters.

3 Shaping the shoreline Q: How does the seashore shape it’s shoreline? A: The shoreline is shaped by waves, waves are formed by wind. In harsh weather the wind pushes the cold waters on to the rocks and sand trying to defeat everything in its path making changes on the seashore. When the wind is clam the waves hit everything like slight ripples making barely any changes on the shore. Q and A

4 Plants On the seashore and even in the seashore there are plants that are unlike trees and the plants that grow on land. The most common name for the plants are seaweed and also named algae. Seaweed is weeds they are not like the garden weeds that grow flowers on them.

5 Plants There are all different types of plants in the seashore like seaweed. Seaweed can come in different colors such as green, brown and even red seaweed. Green seaweed comes in different shapes and characteristics. A characteristic for the green seaweed is on there leaves they have air pockets another has teeth shaped edges on there leaves

6 Red Seaweed Red seaweed is smaller than other seaweeds and they like shady tide pools and deeper water. red seaweed contains a red pigment that keeps out green pigment.

7 Animal habitats Barnacles live on boats, shells, rocks, and lobsters. A barnacle is an invertebrate animal which is an animal that does not have a backbone. Sea urchins live on rocks. A sea urchins is a small circular animal covered in spikes to protect its self from other animals. Starfish live in rocky areas and you will find also find them on the surface of the sea and in tide pools.

8 Animal Habitats Tide pool fish live in tide pools which is a rocky area that is at the edge of an ocean. Crabs burow themselves into soft sand and mud. Lobsters live on rocky, sandy or muddy bottoms of the sea.

9 Animal Disguises Q: how do animals disguise themselves and what animals disguise themselves? A: Sea urchins disguises themselves by covering up and getting a hold of pebbles, shells and pieces of seaweed onto there spikes. Crabs disguise themselves by backing up into rocks that are the same color as them. Q and A

10 Animal Disguises Flat fish are amazing at being in disguise because they are flat and camouflage so they can blend in with rocks and broken shells laying on the sand.

11 Living out of water Besides just the animals in the water there are animals living out of water. there are birds that catch and eat fish and other animals in the seashore. Birds lives in the cliffs over the seashore and ocean.
