Classifying Most Living Things Dichotomous Key Single-Celled: Nucleus: Yes-Protists; No-Bacteria. Makes Own Food: Plants. Eats food: Yes-Animals; No-Fungi.

Six Kingdoms Bacteria: Single celled. No Nucleus. Most numerous. Archaebacteria: ancient. Eubacteria: modern

Protists: One or more cells. Has a nucleus and two or more parts. Make their own food. Change food to energy. Same characteristics as fungi, plants and animals. Protozoa, Algae, Amoebas, Slime Mold

Fungi: Two or more parts. Has nucleus. Absorb food and breakdown other organisms. Grow fast and reproduce through spores. Mushrooms

Plants: Have many cells. Have many tissues and organs. Have cells and chloroplasts. Make their own food. Ferns: have roots, stems, and leaves. Gymnosperms: Vascular and produces seeds.

Plant Kingdom Vascular plants: Seed Plants: Angiosperms and Gymnosperms. Seedless Plants: Ferns and horsetails. Non-Vascular Plants: Hornworts, liverworts, and Mosses.
