2 9-Mar-052 IEEE Computer Society SAB/CS ExCom SP-5 Report Goal 1 Share the vision, break the silos (Interoperability) Identify ways for standards sponsors to work with other boards to disseminate / receive input for standards work. Find synergies in our communities & identify new products and services. Create draft matrix with point products and services grouped by technical topics. (Jack Cole/Staff) Solicit input from volunteers (TC & conference chairs, pubs editors, newsletter editors…)

3 9-Mar-053 IEEE Computer Society SAB/CS ExCom SP-5 Report Goal 2 Create stakeholder – and community - based business models (Product Lines) Identify and solicit new standards communities (FIPA) Explore opportunities to create standards- centered services (EPS, EAB) Explore new guidance models – technical guides, tutorials… Identify and leverage products of other organizations (CMMI, PMI, ISO)

Open up direct channels to Technical Committees. Evaluate rights and usage issues associated with software standards. Investigate free use of imbedded specifications.

6 9-Mar-056 IEEE Computer Society SAB/CS ExCom SP-5 Report Goal 5 Embrace & manage fundamental change (business model) Slight modification to CS P&P to identify the “type” of sponsor that the SAB is with respect to the IEEE-SA. Assist sponsors in their transition to new procedures. New policies for alignment with IEEE-CS SP5. Emphasis on inter-group coordination and planning.

(Lohr/Sponsors/PIF)
