3 Griffin’s Educational Initiatives Griffin has three primary educational initiatives: Content Literacy—D.R.A.W. (Discussion, Reading, Analysis, and Writing) Math Literacy Data Analysis These initiatives directly impact our increased student achievement.

Keeping an 80% in each AC class Probation (1 st time below an 80 at the end of a semester) Discontinuation (2 nd time below an 80 at the end of a semester) Re-entry (90+ average in the subject area for 2 consecutive nine weeks & with review by Local Eligibility Committee)

11 Griffin After-School Clubs

12 Griffin PTSA/Griffin Foundation: A Dedicated Partnership Together, the PTSA and the Griffin Foundation provide financial and moral support for students and teachers of Griffin.

13 Griffin PTSA PTSA helps to fund student clubs, hosts teacher appreciation days, and beautifies the GMS campus Enrichment club organization School Store expansion Connection classes awarded $2,000 each New Signs and Paw Prints New Paint inside New Office chairs for teachers Over $2000 for learning commons Money for Technology Marquee renovation

14 Foundation Accomplishments Implemented a teacher grant program and has issued over $15,000 in teacher grants Painted the theatre Bought new tables for the Memorial Garden Bought new printers for the computer labs and headphones for all computers Started one of the biggest community event in Smyrna..the Haunted House!!!!
