3 Partnership Is not –a one-off visit (although this can be a necessary first step) –one way (all sides need to gain from the relationship) Is the opportunity for ESOL learners –to transfer knowledge from the classroom to new learning situations within the real world –to open up unexpected possibilities

4 Why look outside the classroom? Learner autonomy? Motivation? Citizenship? Cultural schemata? Intercultural skills? Enjoyment, inspiration and creativity?

5 Museums – Engaging Refugees and Asylum Seekers Multi-faceted offer for ESOL learners at all four partners, for example: WEA class at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens Creative writing with Leicester City Museums Service EMTAS classes at World Museum Liverpool Handling box outreach and Salford Routes project at Salford Museum and Art Gallery

6 Inspire and delight? I felt full glad because today with all my friends taked a nice time. I liked the Famine pecture because it is a real life in the world. I felt I’m nearlly sky because I can see very far.
