1 Week 6 Vocabulary Objectives: 1. Help us become more sophisticated readers…so we understand fluently what we read. 2. Help us understand words in context, to help us understand words we don’t currently know. 3. Help us become more sophisticated writers, so we use a mature vocabulary and sound like adults in our word choices.

3 Whole Words Write a Sentence for Each 1. Vista – N – a view or prospect, esp. one seen through a long, narrow avenue or passage 2. Provisioned – V – fthe providing or supplying of something, esp. of food or other necessities.

4 Whole Words Write a Sentence for Each 3. Phantasm – N - a creation of the imagination or fancy; fantasy, often distorted or ghostly in nature. 4. Tremulousness – N – characterized by trembling, as from fear, nervousness, or weakness.
