2 The consonant -le endings are circled.
There are many words that end with a consonant -le. (-ble,-tle, -kle, -tle, -fle, -zle, -gle, -dle) Here are a few examples. The consonant -le endings are circled. rankle stumble simple battle sniffle dazzle jungle handle

Did you notice how sometimes the consonant before the -le is doubled? This is called the “rules of twins”. When the consonant -le follows a short vowel sound than the first letter of the ending is usually doubled. giggle rattle snuggle bottle

7 Verbs Verbs are often called “action words”. They tell what happens in a sentence. Every sentence has a verb. The children run on the playground. Sally reads a book under a tree. John yells to her.

9 Helping Verbs Often there are more than one verb in a sentence. There will be a main verb and a helping verb. State of being verbs are also sometimes helping verbs. may must might should could would have has will can shall

10 state of being verb Charlie is thirsty. action verb Charlie spilled his milk. helping verb action verb He is always spilling something. helping verbs action verb He could have been spilling the milk down his throat.
