EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  The Institute was founded in 1962 as a unique research organization called the Copper Institute Bor within the Mining and Smelting Complex Bor (RTB Bor) with the objective to gather the most competent personnel from RTB Bor and perform more efficient and reliable development, scientific and experimental research activities. EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  The Institute has strong support in the provision of infrastructure and personnel requirements, achieved its role in solving the complex problems of development of the economy and justify its purpose the development of RTB Bor to the world-famous producers of copper.  Appropriate to the needs of society at a given time, the Institute in 2007, stands out as an independent scientific research institution owned by the state, changing its name to the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor and turns to his own development and market orientation.

EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  Today, the Institute possesses more than 11,500 m 2 of business area, out of which 65% are laboratories, pilot plants and workshops, 25% are construction and designing departments and 10% are accessory objects.  All laboratories are equipped with the most up-to date devices for the various research, production, measuring and regulation activities.  In total 203 employees:  14 Ph.D., 12 M.Sc., 77 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree  and 90 technicians. EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  The Institute is known for its projects, which are funded by the industry and relevant government institutions at national and international projects which are highly valued technical development solutions and patents.  Continually cooperate with industry and fosters international cooperation.  Possess accreditation Certificates of Lloyd Register Quality Assurance and SGS Société Générale de Surveillance for follow standards:  ISO 9001/2008,  BS EN ISO 14001/2004,  OHSAS 18001/2007  as well as Accredited chemical and mineralogical laboratories for standards: ATS 01-308, SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2006 for the testing laboratories for more than 180 test methods.

EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  Test methods are in the fields of: physical and chemical testing of the environment (water, air and waste), testing of coal and coke, minerals, electrical testing, non-destructive testing (ropes), geotechnical testing of soil, rock, as well as sampling of air, coal, metallic and non-metallic materials.  Tests in the field of mining and metallurgy, for metals and alloys of copper, gold, silver, palladium and other precious and non-ferrous metals and alloys.  Accreditation Certificate for Scientific and Development work  Approvals by Decisions for:  Emission monitoring  Imission monitoring  Waste categorization  Approvals by Decision for Control of Industrial and Waste Water

EUROPEAN UNION GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA SERBIAN GOVERNMENT Structural Funds 2007-2013  Throughout the whole period of development, the Institute permanently strengthening in staff, equipments, space and expending its business.  Today it is a research organization that is fully qualified to deal with the most complete complex researching and engineering in the industry of non-ferrous metals, raw materials and related products, from exploration to full exploitation, processing and finalization of products for industrial and consumer products, with the introduction modern control systems, monitoring, control, automation and complete information system, from the lowest to the highest level.
