2. Market Trends With the drop in fuel prices airlines are rethinking their strategies. Building customer loyalty by improving flying experience through cabin differentiation is becoming a top strategic priority. With low cost of fuel, aging fleets are again cost effective. IFE & connectivity as part of cabin upgrades are critical to extend the lifetime of aging fleet. In-flight connectivity is expected to create a key competitive advantage for airlines and will be treated as a value-added feature. New products will be launched (platforms, apps) and new forms of advertising will allow airlines to generate ancillary revenue. Leisure and cost conscious travellers are willing to pay extra for a reasonably priced IFE & Connectivity making these products standard for economy class not only to premium operators but also Low Cost Carriers, Leisure Travel charterers and legacy carriers.

Facts Business travellers in various regions are willing to pay for a reasonably priced Hybrid Comfort Business Class for regional Business travel requirements: Larger leather seats with extra legroom, connectivity, lounge access, fast track check- in, and immigration processing, etc…. Although Connectivity models are still not mature where hybrid IFE and connectivity solutions can be developed utilizing customer owned tablets, but the technology is available and with increased penetration of tablets, such models will be the norm.
