4  2. Disturbed Rock layers –  Rock layers are horizontal, if not, there has been a disturbance. 4 ways – Faults, Intrusion, Folding, and Tilting.  ERROR - Unconformity

5  Draw the flow map in your notes.

6  Geologist use relative dating to determine the order in which events happen.

7  The principle of superposition states that in undisturbed rock sequences, younger layers lie above older layers.

8  Folding and tilting are 2 events that disturb rock layers.

9  Faults and intrusions are 2 features that disturb rock layers.

10  The known rock and fossil record is indicated by the geologic column.

11  Geologist examine the relationship between rock layers and the structures that cut across them in order to determine relative age.
