2. Weekly Skill: Problem & Solution A problem is something a person or character is facing. A solution is a way to solve the problem. Turn to page 232-233. What problem does the boy in the window have? Are the kids with the umbrella showing us a problem or a solution?

3. Comprehension Skill: Compare & Contrast Compare means to tell how two or more things are alike. Contrast means to tell how two or more things are different. Turn to page 236. How can we compare and contrast Snuggles and Tippy?

4. Phonics Skill: Final Syllable -le Look at the word cuddle. You already know it has a double consonant in the middle, so we can divide it into syllables between the two: cud/dle When we read candle, we see there are two vowels, so it’s probably two syllables. When a word ends in - le, the consonant that comes before it is part of the last syllable: can/dle.
