2 Classroom Rules and Procedures
CHICKASAW HIGH SCHOOL 2013 – 2014 SCHOOL YEAR Dr. Andreiy I Kondrat’yev Science Class Classroom Rules and Procedures The following discipline procedures will be used in class! Let’s Start! Please be attentive, take notes!

3 Classroom Rules 1. Students are to bring all required materials and supplies to class each day. 2. Students are to be in their seats, quiet, and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. 3. Students are to follow directions the first time they are given. 4. Students are to raise their hand to be recognized before speaking. 5. Students are to remain in their seats unless given permission to get up. 6. Students should not eat, drink, or chew gum in the classroom.

4 Disciplinary Procedures
1st offence- Warning 2nd offence- Parent Notification 3rd offence- Detention 4th offence- Referral to the office This procedure may be altered according to the severity of the offence!!!!

5 Incentives 1. Praise 2. Parent contact
3. Nomination for student of the month award 4. Homework passes

6 CLASS SUPPLIES! BE PREPARED!
3 ring binder paper of different types (college ruled, blank paper, graph paper) regular pens various pencils 4 or more dividers red pen highlighter eraser scientific calculator compass ruler protractor BRING SUPPLIES EVERY DAY IN CLASS!

7 CLASS RULES SIMPLE Always show respect: to others, to your teacher, to your classroom, and yourself Always come prepared Come to class with good attitude ALL SCHOOL RULES ARE APPLIED IN THIS CLASS! REMEMBER YOU ARE HERE TO LEARN! LEARNING TAKES TWO SIDES ALWAYS: I TEACH AND YOU LEARN! OR LET’S GO THIS WAY: I TRY TO TEACH AND YOU TRY TO LEARN! I APPRECIATE YOU TO BE IN MY CLASS!

8 Again! Being Prepared and Writing Utensils
Bring required materials each day. (3-ring binder, paper and/or notebook, pen and a pencil Writing Utensils Students may use a pencil or a pen (blue or black ink) Blue or black ink should be used for formal writing assignments. Typed or computer generated work will be accepted with prior approval of the teacher.

9 Entering and Exiting Class
Entering Class After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. Students may not leave books and materials outside the classroom for any reason Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Begin working on DO NOW or Bellringer problems Exiting Class The teacher will dismiss the class Not The Bell. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher. Students will be dismissed by rows. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room.

10 Maintaining Your Class Binder and Labs Notebook
Keep the following in your binder: Class rules, class procedures, class notes, assignments, Daily work , and other materials All materials must be dated and in the right order. Binders will be checked every week and every nine weeks. The grade for 9 weeks will count as a test grade. Labs Notebook This will be a black and white composition notebook (Hardback). This notebook will be used for entries within labwork as well as class assignments related to labs.

11 Articles Reviews, Papers, Projects
Paper usage Writing on the back of homework and class work is permitted and encouraged. Do not write on final drafts. Do not write on the bottom line of the paper, go to next page. Heading Papers Write your name and date in the top-right hand corner of the first page. Write your last name and number any following pages in the upper right hand corner. Do not fold papers!!! Passing in papers Each student should place their paper on top of the paper beside you and pass them across the row. The student on the last seat should collect all papers place them on the teachers desk.

12 Restroom and Water Restroom
Students should use the restroom before class. After entering the classroom, students will not be allowed to leave unless it is an extreme Emergency. Water a. Students should get water before class

13 Pencil Sharpening and Trash
Students are to sharpen pencils upon entering the classroom If your lead breaks during class and if your have no other writing utensil, raise your hand and wait for further instructions. Trash Trash will be thrown away when your are dismissed from class. Keep it at your desk until you are dismissed. Pick up all paper around your desk before leaving the room.

14 Walking In The Hallways As A Class
Students are expected to walk in a straight line when in the hallway. There will be NO TALKING in line. No misbehavior at any time! All class rules apply in the hallway.

15 Library Privileges and A.R. Requirements
Students may visit the library as a class once every two weeks. They may also visit the library during their Study Hall, at Lunch, and during their Break. All students will be required to read and write a paper/review on certain scientific topic related to the Science class they are in. These grades for papers and/or reviews will be counted as a test grade in my grade book. If the student fails to meet this requirement they will receive a zero for a that specific assignment in my grade book. Failure to comply with assigned work in the library will result in the loss of library privileges.

16 AGAIN CLASS PROCEDURES SUMMARIZED
BRING ALL REQUIRED STUFF IN THE CLASS TURN IN YOUR ASSIGNMENT AS DIRECTED FIND YOUR ASSIGNED SEAT AND BEGIN WRITING RESPONSE TO “DO NOW” OR BELLRINGER PART OF OUR CLASS BATHROOM BREAK RULES DON”T LEAVE YOUR SEAT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION -DON’T THROW ANYTHING DON’T TALK WHEN I AM TALKING RAISE YOUR HAND BEFORE ASKING QUESTION YOU MUST STILL BE IN YOUR SEAT WHEN THE BELL RINGS. REMEMBER I DISMISS YOU NOT THE BELL NO FOOD, DRINK, GUM ABSOLUTELY NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES TARDIES - ABSENCES - LATE WORK - -MAKE UP POLICY EXTRA CREDIT GRADING POLICY SAME AS THE CHICASAW HIGH SCHOOL
