1 Graphing multiple data sets using Microsoft Excel 1. Enter data and prepare a graph as described in “Excel-simple graph” found by visiting www.ux1.eiu.edu/~cfgab then clicking on “Link to courses”.www.ux1.eiu.edu/~cfgab For this demonstration, let’s assume that you measured the absorbance (A 450 ) of an enzyme-catalyzed reaction with variable substrate concentration. Your data might look like this- 2. To graph this data, I highlighted the area shown in blue, selected Chart Wizard, then selected the “XY scatter” graph in step 1 and “rows” in step 2. Note- If you wish to change the titles of each line, simply click the “series” tab type in new label names. Graphing multiple lines (cont.)

2 3. After completing steps 3 and 4 of Chart Wizard, my graph looks like this: 4. Now, simply right click on any data point and select “add trendline”. You must repeat this for each set of data points. The results are shown on the next slide. Graphing multiple lines (cont.)

3 Again, to print out only the graph (but not the table), simply select the graph by clicking on it (these filled –in boxes will appear) and print. The final graph-
