2. Meet the Artist: Maxfield Parrish Born in Philadelphia in 1870. He lived to be 96 years old and painted until he was 91 years old! He began drawing very young and he was very good! He illustrated magazine covers and children’s books. Best known for his use of colors – especially “Parrish-Blue” used in his skies. Known as the “Master of Make Believe”
