2 Base Group Wordle Review the data from the learning data powerpoint for your school – what conclusions might you make for learning in class? Create a six word Wordle with the six most important words defining transfer and QFIC (you can not use the words quality, fidelity, intensity, and consistency). http://www.wordle.net/ Share your work! 3 School Group Time Complete the evaluation of your PD and identify gaps Complete the planning for improvement sheet

4 Force Field Activity With your school team, examine the description of high quality transfer and identify the barriers and drivers for/against achieving high quality transfer Organize your barriers and drivers into categories and select your top 2 barriers and top two drivers Discuss and be ready to share ideas for bridging your barriers and maximizing your drivers

5 Alignment, Improvement and Integration A School Improvement Plan is your Professional Development Plan For this plan to create change/improvement, it MUST be aligned, aimed at real improvement in results, and integrated into EVERY part of the school system Criteria for Excellence in improvement include: leadership, planning, customer focus, measurement management, process, management, and results Improvement work for learning requires visionary leadership, future focused, and management for innovation It is important to keep a systems perspective in order to make improvements that systemic and systematic.

6 Aligned Common understanding of purpose and goals Establishes consistency of plans, processes, information, resources, actions, and results Outcomes and Processes are aligned Root cause of need aligned with strategies and measures Objectives, Tasks, and Measures of Transfer need to all align PD should be aligned to highly effective teaching

7 Improvement The focus is about improvement of the processes used to get the results There needs to be innovation and a focus on the future Improvement is not validation; it is change Requires the adoption of a systematic approach to continuous improvement and action planning
