1. Geographical Location of the Nanxi District The Nanxi District is located at the north-eastern tip of Tainan City. It has the Dongshan District and Dapu Township of Chiayi County to its north; Nanhua District to its east; Liujia and Danei Districts to its west; and it connects to Yujing District to its south. Taiwan’s largest reservoir, the Zengwen Reservoir, is located on the border of Nanxi District and Dapu Township. This area is the end-tail of the Alishan Range. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with Tai- bu-long Basin at its center, and has a tropical monsoon climate.
