3 Dept. of Labor estimates that 80% of those that lose jobs do so not because of lack of job skills but because of poor work ethics. 3

4 What Do We Mean When We Say “Work Ethics” ? 4

5 Introduction  Business and industry leaders have identified ten essential work ethics traits. 5

19 Evaluating Work Ethics Two elements make up your work ethics grade: training (this course) and instructor evaluation 19

20 Grading Criteria for Instructor Evaluation  3 – Exceeds Expectations  2 – Meets Expectations  1 – Needs Improvement  0 - Unacceptable 20

21 Evaluating Work Ethics  The assumption is that students meet expectations (2)  Student who meets expectations is a good student  Student who exceeds expectations is truly outstanding 21

22 Practicing Work Ethics The last part of your work ethics training gives you the opportunity to think through some work ethics choices. You will answer questions that deal with situations where you must make an ethical choice, then submit your answers to your instructor. 22
