7 The 5 Kinds of Love The 5 kinds of love are: Companionship
Intimate Love Family Love Friendship Charity

8 1. COMPANIONSHIP (HETAIREIA)
Love for a classmate, or a friend You share common interest(s) with the other Share common goals There is no emotional closeness Greeks called this love.

9 2. INTIMATE LOVE (EROS) Love in the sexual sense is a passionate love, pleasurable, spontaneous and instinctive. It is the epitome of all emotions towards someone – involving physical, spiritual and emotional.

10 3. FAMILY LOVE (STORGE) A bond between children and parents.
This emotion comes from within, it is not earned. Example: God’s love for us (he gave us Jesus who suffered and died for our sins)

11 4. FRIENDSHIP (PHILIA) Warm and tender affection felt between two friends It is mutual and supportive. Example: Jesus had a strong friendship with Lazarus. The shortest sentence ever: “He Wept”.

12 5. CHARITY (AGAPE) An unconditional love – doing something without expecting anything in return. Agape does not mean you have to like the person nor know the person – it is a gesture and offer of help. Example: Jesus said, “love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13:34) Click on image to see video
