3 Summary Youth Media project aims to create space for youth voluntary interaction, youth workers and youth leaders in order to exchange experiences and acquire new knowledge, skills and competencies in the delivery of information campaigns for youth and development of partnerships and networks of youth organizations. The specific objectives are: To provide the opportunity of exploring how media can be used in youth activities. The acquisition by the participants of creative presentation and communication skills. To identifify specific NGO/media relations. To increase transnational mobility among young people through direct involvement in project activities of youth organizations in Africa and Europe. To promote active participation of young people by involving them in project implementation activities. To promote cooperation and exchange of best practices in non-formal education methods..

4 The project main activities creating a network and a partnership between youth organizations in Africa and Europe. - Organizing workshops for local youth to acquire the skills to organize a media campaign. - Organizing a media campaign by each participant on human rights and the fight against racism and xenophobiei. - Organizing a meeting to evaluate the project. - Organize a training course on organizing a youth media campaign. - Setting up an online radio station will be porta-voice for the youth involved in the project. Places for the project to be run: Ramnicu Valcea (Romania), Thessaloniki (Greece),Magenta (Italy), Accra (Ghana), Yaounde (Camerun),Lusaka(Zambia).

5 The tangible results Organizing a workshop for local youth and youth workers. - Organizing a local media campaign by young people. - Organize a training course for young people on how to make a media campaign on a given theme. - Setting up an online radio station which will be administered by young people. - Project web page, which will serve as a platform for exchanging best practices and promoting transnational partnerships. - Video clips made ​​ by the youth on voluntary participation in community life

6 Target group The estimated impact of the project is that a total of 30 young people from Africa and Europe will have the opportunity to participate in transnational mobility where they will learn the basic knowledge and skills for organizing a media campaign. Also, a total of 300 young people from six countries will be direct beneficiaries of the project and will learn basic skills for active participation and involvement in community life and a total of approximately 6,000 young people will be indirect beneficiaries of the project and will wish to participate in future youth projects at both local and transnational level. The project’s website and online radio station will help to develop solidarity among young people and increase tolerance among them, therefore putting an end to all attitudes of racism and xenophobia.

7 Outcomes - Creating a transnational EU-Africa network consisting of six active partners and 30 associate partners which will provide an exchange of best practices and specific information for youth activities and active participation of young people. - Conducting local workshops for a total of 300 young people regarding the initiation and conduct of a media campaign. - Establishing a training course for 30 young people from Africa and Europe on initiating a media campaign on a given theme. - Setting up an online radio station and broadcasting. - Web page design.

8 Activities 1. Organization of a video conference between the partners (October 2011). Completion of final work plan. 2. Project launching (November-December 2011). This work will be organized by each partner and aims to inform local communities about the project activities. 3. Research on media and communication means and matching specific techniques to these means(November-December 2011) 4. Partners meeting (December 2011).

11 Impact - Project impact on young people involved will be: - Acquiring skills of creative communication and presentation skills. - Acquiring skills for ensuring visibility and dissemination of project results. - Personal and social development after direct participation in project activities. - Increased self confidence and awareness of their role in the current and future context of Europe. In the long term, participants in this project will become themselves multipliers of the project and will lead to dissemination of project results in the six local communities. The young participants will become people-resources within partner organizations and will have the opportunity to share experience to other young people not participating directly in the project. At the level of each partner, an information and documentation center that will coordinate the nationwide network will be formed. Within the center young people involved in the project which will have the opportunity to present their own experience and other youth.
