4 Bottlenose Dolphins Bottlenose Dolphins are the most common type of dolphin in captivity. This dolphin has dark gray near its dorsal fin, light gray on its sides, and is almost white on its belly. Click on the little blue dolphin in the corner to find out how long a bottlenose dolphin can hold its breath!

Bottlenose dolphins nurse their calves with milk from mammary glands of the mothers. Bottlenose Dolphins can stay under water for up to 20 minutes!

6 Hector’s Dolphin Hector’s dolphins are the smallest marine dolphin. They are found only in New Zealand.

Hector’s dolphins live about 20 years. The Hector’s dolphin is endangered.

8 Atlantic Spotted Dolphin
Spotted dolphins mate year round. Spotted dolphins live up to 46 years.

Spotted dolphins can weigh up to 250 pounds at adulthood. Spotted dolphins are born without spots, as they grow spots start to cover their bodies. Back to main menu! 

They can be found all over the ocean. Squid are closely related to the octopus.

11 Mackerel Fish that live in temperate and moderate waters.
These fish are round or torpedo shaped. Mackerel are carnivorous.

12 Atlantic Cod Fish Atlantic Cod can live to be over 20 years old.

14 Hector’s Dolphins Habitat
They live off the coast of New Zealand. They live around the South Island West Coast and around Christchurch.

15 Atlantic Spotted Dolphin Habitat
